I apologize for the confusion that might have been caused by the fact that this was not coming from an ArenaNet mail address.
On the other hand, it is a good thing that you guys stay vigilant

ArenaNet Needs Your Help! Tell Us Who You Are for a Chance to Get the New Guild Wars 2 Art Book.
Dear Xxxx,
We are a software design company working for a game development organization that wants to better understand your Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) experience from the perspective of people like you.
You have been prequalified because you indicated that you would be interested in a follow up survey conducted by ArenaNet on September 2008. By completing the survey, you will not only help make the ArenaNet community better, but you will also have the opportunity to receive a Guild Wars 2 Concept Art Book initially distributed during PAX 2009. Respondents who agree to a follow up interview after the survey will receive the book. If you are selected, we will inform you via e-mail within 24-48 hours of completing the survey with an invitation including time and dates.
This survey should take about 30 minutes to complete, depending on your answers. Please respond as soon as possible – this survey is open for a limited time.
It goes on to give instructions for the survey.

I think it may be legit only because I did agree to a survey when applying for Test Krewe.
Edit: Searched Artifact Group, they're a marketing firm in Seatle.

Got the same thing. Never applied for the Test Krewe, but I vaguely remember participating in a Summer 08 ANet survey, which the email references...
Either way, I'm not touching this without official clarification.

I think it's fine folks... I just took the survey... it's clean and straight-forward. No ads or anything through the questionaire. If you applied for the test krewe, this looks like the survey they were talking about. The questions are all relating to "Arenanet".

I got the email for some reason.
Did not apply for the test krewe.
I do not think this is legit, until a.net says otherwise. I would strongly suggest no one go to this website until we are sure it is legit. Even if the site seems fine, it could contain spyware/malicious softeware.

Got one about 2 hours ago, too.
My question is ~ Is Anet now farming out/selling our email addresses to marketing firms?
If I even did take the Anet survey back then and agreed to a follow-up one...it was for any additional from Anet and certainly never for another party.

I got the email. Did not apply for Test Krewe, but I also vaguely remember a 2008 survey.
I did the survey too. It was pretty legit. Didn't ask you for any personal information, or to log in, or your account information, or anything like that (except if you would be willing to participate for an hour telephone interview, and it didn't even ask for your cell phone number); it was mostly asking questions about your MMO habits and what you were interested in Guild Wars-wise.
No malware or spyware warnings went off from my 2000 anti-spyware softwares. Well, if it wasn't legit, I hope they enjoy their free answers.

I got one, took the survey, and it doesn't really ask for personal info mostly rating the importance of different aspects of MMOs, and it's over surveymonkey, so... yeah.
